Research Foundation Oracle Accounting System

The Research Foundation Central Office technical staff has been working diligently over the last year on some very much-needed enhancements to the RF Oracle Accounting System. |
One such enhancement, which will be rolled out at the end of February, is the Project Investigator Award Interface (PIAI). Through the PIAI you will be able to access information on purchase orders, payment data, budgets and expenditures that are easily accessible and extensive, as well as more accurate and up to date than what is currently available in the Oracle applications. Future enhancements to the PIAI will include Human Resources and Labor Distribution data, as well as Billing and Collections information.
The other enhancement to the system, that is about to be moved to production, is the payroll encumbering solution. This will allow for payroll charges to encumber correctly on an award for the entire payroll period. This is a major improvement because, as you know, up until this point, partial payrolls at the end of award periods were not fully encumbered causing balances to be overstated.
We are very excited about these changes, and will begin a series of training sessions related to these system upgrades during Bengal Pause on Tuesday, February 24 th in the Research Foundation Conference Room.
