Fall 2007

Beginning in 2007, the China Scholarship Council initiated a five-year plan to sponsor 5000 Ph.D. students each year to study abroad. Buffalo State has accepted eight such scholars from the Central University of Finance and Economics in Beijing for the 2007–2008 academic year. The eight are currently working with their assigned mentors in the Economics and Finance, Geography and Urban Planning, and Sociology Departments. While studying with faculty members and exploring prospects for future research collaboration, they are contributing signifi cantly to the internationalization of Buffalo State. Interested faculty and staff are invited to contact these visiting scholars through the departments mentioned above or the Center for China Studies.
